The Path to Becoming a Vertice Elite Member and English User

To maintain the quality of our organization, we use a customized testing system designed to evaluate your personal and professional English needs.

Our tests measure your performance in key areas and compare it to native English users in your field. This ensures you focus only on the most relevant skills for your career and daily life, avoiding unnecessary study. We believe in targeted training over random learning for faster and more meaningful progress.



Testing and Training

As a Vertice associate on the path to English mastery, we offer a comprehensive training system focused on real-world application. However, you are free to choose your own learning path.

This flexible system allows you to progress efficiently with high-quality training that matches your goals.

1. Pronunciation

Pronunciation training is a key feature of becoming a complete English user.  If you have all other flags, but your English is not easily understood you can not be considered a complete user, because the listener can not understand you. Pronunciation is can be mastered with the proper training. 





Testing and Training

We have contracted with the highest level  pronunciation experts for Japanese people.  Your pronunciation may take 5 to 9 months on average, to  reach a qualifying levels.

2. Vocabulary

We believe that Knowing useful vocabulary words that helps you communicate in your area of expertise is more important than knowing random vocabulary words unrelated to your life or work.   We also know that native never really stop learning vocabulary words but they learn them differently than students would.  We learn new words naturally by observation and experience.   After you have achieved a functional vocabulary in your field you  can begin also begin to learn naturally like natives.   



Testing and Training

We test you on a set of general vocabulary words that represent  about 90% of the words native use to communicate with each other.   We also test you on vocabulary words related to your area of expertise.  We don not test a business person in finance on the specialized vocabulary of an auto mechanic.   


  • This test may take 45 to 75 min.
  • It will focus on general and specialized terms based on your profile.
  • It will show us how you compare to the average native speaker in your field.


3. Written Communication

Written Comprehension

Being able to express your ideas on paper is more of an art that a science.  Good or not so good writing is harder to measure.  Affective writing can be easily tested.    Japanese students have long history of writing in English.     Writing is objective and the quality of your writing may depend on who is reading it.   A key point to writing is making sure that your writing  is grammatically correct and logically consistent.    We look for writing that maybe creative, descriptive, technical, and communicative.  If  reading and writing  is a key part of your expertise then the   test and expectations will reflect that.





Testing and Training

Depending on your field of expertise you may be expected to write a lot such as a researcher or teacher, or write very little.  A majority of your score  would be based on what we consider to be functional in your field.  We will also challenge you on descriptive and or creative writing as well.   Writing  courses are available widely available to you. ELFA offers writing coursed for beginners to advanced and are taught at your learning pace. 


  • The test is done online with an ELFA tester watching you write on screen.
  • The content is relieved just before they test
  • The test should be completed  between 20 and 50 minutes.
